Do our Moons tell us whether we are soulmates?
No. Completing a circle, matching phases or having different phases is not evidence about a relationship. There is no scientific evidence that the phase on a birth date determines personality or compatibility. The card is a keepsake, not a verdict.
Can a date alone give my exact birth Moon?
No. This tool samples 12:00 UTC on each date. Your actual birth instant can fall elsewhere, especially when local time and time zone are unknown. Illumination and the broad phase name can change. For birth-chart positions, use the full natal calculator and supply a reliable time and place if you know them.
How are the two shapes calculated?
Lunara uses its existing Swiss Ephemeris calculation to find the Sun and Moon longitudes at noon UTC. The directed Moon–Sun angle places each date in one of eight broad 45-degree phase sectors. Approximate illumination is 100 × (1 − cos(angle)) / 2, rounded to a whole percent. This longitude-only estimate ignores lunar latitude and distance; it is not the exact apparent illumination. The drawn light direction is schematic, not the view from your birthplace.
Is a Moon phase the same thing as a Moon sign?
No. Phase describes illumination relative to the Sun. A Moon sign is an astrological zodiac position. Two people can share a phase and have different Moon signs. Neither an illustrated phase pair nor a synastry reading is scientific evidence of relationship quality.
What is included in the free download?
One original 1080 × 1080 PNG with two illustrated phase shapes, broad phase labels and approximate illuminated percentages. You can also open a browser-local print sheet with the same card at 16 cm wide. Use A4 or Letter in portrait at 100% scale; your browser handles printing or saving as PDF. No birthdays, names or birth locations are printed on it. Neither option requires an email address or account.
