Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce compatibility: what the Venus signs miss

4 min read

Taylor Swift has Venus in Aquarius. Travis Kelce has Venus in Scorpio. Those signs are square to each other in a whole-sign reading, but their Venus planets are nowhere near 90° apart.

Using the public birth data below, we calculated a separation of 65.4–65.9° across 25 sampled clocks on Taylor's birth date, with Travis's source-listed time held fixed. That is a useful distinction if a compatibility grid has ever made you worry about your own relationship.

A grid compares signs. A degree-based synastry chart compares the positions inside them.

The part a sign grid leaves out

Each zodiac sign covers 30°. A planet near the beginning of Aquarius and one near the end of Scorpio can be much closer together than the sign names suggest.

At representative local noon for Taylor, our calculation places her Venus around 1.99° Aquarius and Travis's around 26.33° Scorpio. Their shortest angular separation is approximately 65.66°.

Noon is a calculation reference, not a claim about Taylor's birth time. Sampling the other clocks keeps the separation around 66°, well away from a degree-based square.

Whole-sign astrology uses a different definition. Calling Aquarius and Scorpio square by sign is consistent with that method. The mistake is quietly treating that statement as a measured 90° contact between these two planets.

This is not automatically a sextile, either

A sextile is centred on 60°. Astrologers choose an orb: the permitted distance from that exact angle.

Lunara's calculator allows 4.4° for a Venus–Venus sextile. The sampled separations here fall outside that limit, so it returns no Venus–Venus aspect. An astrologer using a wider orb might include a loose sextile. Neither convention turns these placements into a close 90° square.

A chart comparison should say which method it uses. Changing the orb until it produces a nicer story defeats the point of calculating the positions.

The birth times do not have equal support

The source lines matter as much as the large, precise clock printed above them.

Taylor Swift

  • Public date and place: December 13, 1989; Reading, Pennsylvania.
  • Time listed by Astrotheme: 08:36.
  • Source reliability shown: DD; “Conflicting/unverified”.[1]

Travis Kelce

  • Public date and place: October 5, 1989; Westlake, Ohio.
  • Time listed by Astrotheme: 05:49.
  • Source reliability shown: AA; “birth certificate or birth record”.[2]

We reviewed Taylor's source record and Travis's source record on October 2, 2026. These are secondary-source classifications; this article does not independently inspect a birth certificate.

Taylor's exact time remains uncertain in that source. We therefore sample her local birth date instead of treating 08:36 as established. For the date-only contact calculation, her Moon, Ascendant and Midheaven are excluded. This article does not interpret either person's houses or rising sign.

Travis's record has stronger stated support. We use its 05:49 time for this comparison rather than describing both people as having unknown birth times.

Note on Travis's profile page (added October 4, 2026): his catalogue profile deliberately uses only the date and place from public Wikipedia/Wikidata records, without the Astrotheme 05:49 clock. So that page withholds his rising sign, houses and exact Moon contacts, and some degree values there come from a different reference time than this worked example. Both are labelled assumptions, not a correction to the calculation above.

A tighter contact worth discussing

The same calculation finds Taylor's Mars conjunct Travis's Venus in Scorpio. Across the sampled Taylor clocks, their distance from an exact conjunction is about 0.21–0.90°.

That is a much tighter measured contact than a presumed Venus–Venus square. In a symbolic reading, Mars–Venus can prompt a conversation about how taking action and showing affection fit together.

For your own relationship, try: “When I take the initiative, does it feel affectionate to you, or would you prefer a different approach?”

That question does not tell us how Taylor or Travis behave in private. The contact is computed; the interpretation is a conversation prompt. Neither establishes attraction, conflict or the future of a relationship.

Use the degrees in your own comparison

If you know both birth times, calculate your two charts together. If one time is missing, leave it unknown rather than borrowing a confident-looking clock from somewhere else.

The free calculator shows the contacts it can support with those inputs. An optional paid relationship reading organizes supported contacts into written interpretations and discussion questions; the offer page explains the format and price before purchase.

You do not need to turn a celebrity chart into a verdict about your own relationship. Use it to notice what the labels leave out.

Calculation notes

We used Lunara's production synastry action and central Swiss Ephemeris path, with tropical geocentric positions and the America/New_York civil timezone for both birthplaces. Taylor's December 13, 1989 date was sampled at every local clock hour from 00:00 through 23:00, plus 23:59. Travis's October 5, 1989 time stayed at 05:49.

The published ranges are sampled values, not proven continuous bounds. The illustration's points use representative Taylor noon; its range comes from all 25 samples. The birth-data sources and calculation choices above define the comparison.
