Grimes Birth Chart

Public context: Pitchfork reports that in a 2024 PBS interview Grimes framed AI tools as a chance for musicians to distinguish their own skills.

Symbolic lens: the Sun at about 27° Pisces squares Uranus within about three to four degrees and Saturn within about four to five, both in early Capricorn. Pisces is read as imagination without hard edges; Uranus as experiment and new technology; Saturn as structure and rules. The squares are traditionally read as friction between an open, fluid self-image and the urge to build or break systems. That is an interpretive image, not a reason for any opinion or record.

Public context: on 9 October 2026 Grimes released the single “Accelerando”, which Pitchfork reports is the first song from an upcoming album, Psy Opera. No album release date had been announced as of 11 October 2026.

Symbolic lens: Mercury at about 2° Pisces sits within about a degree of sextiles to both Saturn in Capricorn and Jupiter in Taurus all day. Mercury in Pisces is read as thinking through images and association; the sextile to Saturn adds form and discipline, and the sextile to Jupiter adds scale. Together they describe dreamlike ideas given a frame. This is symbolism, not a description of how she writes.

Public context: the single is released under her own label, Nazgul Recording LLC, according to Pitchfork and the Apple Music listing’s label line.

Symbolic lens: Venus at about 12–13° Taurus opposes Pluto in Scorpio within a degree across the day, and trines Mars in Capricorn within about four degrees. Venus in Taurus is read as taste for the tangible and owned; Pluto opposite it adds the symbolism of control and transformation; the trine to Mars in Capricorn adds steady, practical effort. It is a lens for questions about ownership of one’s work, not evidence about any business decision.

Public context: Pitchfork also recalls an earlier invitation from Grimes offering 50% of royalties on songs that use an AI version of her voice.

Symbolic lens: Saturn and Uranus sit within about a degree of each other in early Capricorn. That conjunction is shared by everyone born around 1988, so it is generational background, not a personal signature: astrologers associate it with rebuilding structures around new technology. The Moon is left open. It was in Pisces until about 9:45 p.m. local time and in Aries afterwards; without a reliable birth time, neither is chosen.
