John Mayer Birth Chart

The Sun and Mercury stay within about two degrees of each other in Libra across the sampled birth day.

Libra is the sign of the scale: how parts relate to each other and to the whole. Mercury is the planet of thinking and phrasing. Read together, they make a lens for proportion, for asking how much any one part should take up before it starts crowding the rest. That’s a symbolic vocabulary for craft, not a description of his temperament.

The Sun squares Mars in Cancer, about two to two and a half degrees from exact across the sampled day.

Mars is read as drive and the urge to push forward; a square to the Sun is traditionally the friction between that push and a sense of where the whole is going. Cancer is associated with returning home. As a lens: the moment to go further and the moment to come back are both decisions, and the second one is easy to skip.

The Moon stays in Sagittarius for the whole Bridgeport birth day. Its exact degree and contacts depend on an unknown hour, so they aren’t used.

The Moon is read as what settles you, and Sagittarius as range and exploration. A small exercise, created by Lunara rather than taken from Mayer or the chart: outline something you’re making in four parts, mark where its boldest section comes in, and mark where it hands the work back to the rest.
