Willow Smith Birth Chart

The Sun is at about 8° to 9° Scorpio. Mercury, also in Scorpio at about 4° to 5°, is retrograde for the whole birth day, and it squares Neptune at about 4° Aquarius within about a degree and a half.

Mercury retrograde at birth is traditionally read as a mind that returns to its own material: re-hearing, re-checking, rewriting. Neptune adds the symbol of what is felt before it can be named, and a square is the friction between two parts that won’t simply agree. As a lens, that describes the work of producing yourself, where you are both the person with the idea and the person who has to decide when it is clear enough. This is a reading of the symbols, not a claim about her process.

Venus at about 15° to 16° Sagittarius makes a sextile to Uranus at about 17° Aquarius, within about one to two degrees all day.

Venus is read as taste and what you are drawn to. Sagittarius is the sign of range and open space; Uranus is the symbol of the unplanned. An easy sextile between them is traditionally read as enjoying the moment something goes somewhere unexpected. As a lens, it fits the idea of leaving room in a performance for other players to take a turn. It doesn’t say anything about her relationships or her band beyond what the review reported.

Mars at about 28° Virgo makes a trine to Saturn at about 29° Taurus, within about a degree for the whole day.

Mars is the planet of effort, and Virgo is the sign of technique, practice and getting the details right. Saturn is read as discipline and time; a trine between them, in two earth signs, is traditionally described as steady skill that builds through repetition. As a lens, it suits the unglamorous side of musicianship: the hours with an instrument that make a live set possible. That is symbolism, not an assessment of her playing.
