Near and inside the polar circles Placidus houses can fail to compute, so for some high-latitude birthplaces the calculator will show that the result is unavailable rather than switching to another method. Historical clock records can also be imperfect: if your recorded time is off by a few minutes, the MC degree moves with it, and near a sign boundary the sign can change.
