Missing birth time · No guessing
Can you know your Moon sign without a birth time?
Sometimes, yes. The Moon spends roughly two to three days in each sign. If it changed signs on your birthday, a chart set to noon can give you the wrong answer. Check the entire local day instead.
Was the Moon in one sign or two?
What if I only know morning or evening?
Compare that window with the change time above. If the Moon entered its next sign in the afternoon and you know you were born in the morning, the earlier sign applies. If your window crosses the change, keep both possibilities.
Can I find my rising sign this way?
No. The Ascendant changes much faster and needs a birth time and place. Your personality, appearance or favourite description cannot establish an exact time. A birth certificate, hospital record or family record is a better starting point.
How this calculation works
Lunara uses Swiss Ephemeris for the Moon’s geocentric tropical longitude, from midnight to the end of your local birth date. When it crosses a sign boundary, we narrow the crossing to about one minute. This is a sign check, not a complete natal chart or a birth-time rectification service.
City coordinates determine an IANA timezone. Historical timezone records can be imperfect, especially for early dates or places with unusual clock changes. A known birth time close to the displayed boundary deserves a more precise check.
